Who We Are: Perfectly aged. Sharp and bold. One of a kind. Like the high quality product it produces, DCI Cheese Company is inspiring the flourishing cheese category. Nestled in the heart of America's Dairyland for more than 30 years, the Richfield, Wisconsin-based DCI Cheese Company brings global perspective and depth of experience to the industry and to our customers. DCI Cheese Company is the supplier behind a vast array of exciting and flavorful cheeses in today's deli aisle and innovates in a variety of ways: Offering an impressive portfolio of more than 20 distinctive company-owned cheese brands. Creating opportunities in the exciting organic cheese category. Customizing cheese programs for food retailers. Handcrafting high-quality American made specialty cheese and sourcing adventurous imports. Single Source Supplier: Thanks to a series of strategic acquisitions over the years, DCI delivers the offerings and resources of a billion-dollar cheese conglomerate, while remaining flexible and nimble to react quickly to customer needs and category trends. No other supplier in the U.S. offers the single source expertise, experience, distribution network, conversion capabilities, and diverse product line to take products from procurement to market. The Brand Portfolio: Americans consume more than 8.8 billion pounds of cheese annually. To accommodate our growing cheese cravings, DCI's fully-owned or exclusively held brands include Black Diamond, Meza, Nikos, County Line, Organic Creamery, Goldy's and Salemville, among others.
Recent Acquisitions: DCI's cheeses are featured on menus, in manufactured products and on retail shelves across the U.S. Recently, the company doubled the size of its portfolio of branded cheese and other deli aisle food products by adding Swissrose International, the specialty and foodservice cheese business of ConAgra Foods, to its lineup. Founded in 1938, Swissrose brings with it years of tradition and heritage, as one of the first major cheese importers in the country. The acquisition included imported and specialty brands and a number of cheeses from England, France, Switzerland and Denmark such a Joan of Arc, King's Choice, Chevrion and Ilchester.
Most recently DCI acquired Advantage International Foods Corporation, a privately held importer and distributor of specialty cheese. Founded in 1993, Advantage distributes over 1,000 products nationwide and markets the trademarked product lines of Maitre D', Bella Collina and Global Cheese Market. Organics: In addition to traditional and specialty cheeses, DCI offers the most extensive line of organic cheese varieties in the U.S., from blue-veined, Italian hard styles, Monterey Jack, Mild and Sharp Cheddar, and Feta. DCI has been at the forefront of the organic cheesemaking trend, as the organic food industry continues to enjoy double-digit growth. Recognizing the demand for organic milk nationwide, DCI was quick to source its own organic milk supply to ensure volume to meet customer orders for organic cheese. More Styles and Variety: DCI Cheese Company began as a marketing company that provided support to small to medium-sized specialty food suppliers. In 1991, DCI launched Salemville Cheese, its first company-owned brand. Today DCI has expanded its capabilities to a variety of areas in the cheesemaking process including milk procurement, conversion and aging.
